Puff Pastry Fans: Between Tradition and History
Puff pastry fans, also known as prussiane or girelle, are small pastries found throughout Italy, but they boast a specific history and tradition. Their origins appear to date back to Arab countries, where similar pastries made with puff pastry and honey were already being prepared in the 8th century.
Made with simple and genuine ingredients: Italian wheat flour, Piedmontese butter from controlled and certified supply chain, obtained exclusively from fresh centrifuged cream from 100% Italian milk, water, salt, and sugar. The fans feature a light puff pastry laminated using artisanal methods that makes them light and extremely crumbly.
One leads the other!
Try them in winter with a nice hot chocolate or zabajone! They are also perfect in summer with a nice vanilla or chocolate ice cream!
